Printed under the close supervision of artist Jogen Chowdhury, ‘Aftermath’ embodies his iconic technique of distortion, highly emotive quality and uninterrupted lines. As a person who experienced the terrors of partition, he protests or sublimates the wounds of the human condition. The curled-up, injured figure reflects a sense of isolation and pain, echoing the personal and collective consciousness.
